on Feb 26th, 2010Flu Vaccines Will Keep You From Being Contagious
In all four years as a college student not once did I miss a day of class because I was sick. For as long as I can remember my mom always took us to the doctor. No matter how healthy the doctor said we were or how much we hated going, we never went un-vaccinated. We had one of two choices when it came to flu vaccines, a nasal spray or a flu shot. I hate needles and so does my brother so we always asked for the nasal spray. The nasal spray is made with live, weakened flu viruses that do not cause the flu. My younger sister actually prefers taking the flu shot because she’s scared of things going into her nose. The flu shot contains an inactivated vaccine, containing killed viruses. Whichever you may decide to go with it is very important that you do get vaccinated. Being sick with the flu is no joke. You become contagious, weak and it is not surprising that you cannot get out of bed. It is better to take precaution before you are no longer 100% healthy.
